Figure It Out #29 - Fame Camp

Jared Catherine and Shawn Atkins are back with a brand new episode of everyone's favorite 16,821st ranked podcast Figure It Out!

Just a heads up; when the guys recorded this episode it was terribly hot inside Shawn Atkins house so he sat out on his front porch. There were some wind issues to contend with. All efforts were made to keep it to a minimum and clean up the soundtrack, but it still get a little muffled here and there.

This week, Jared feels the podcast needs a bit more structure after the last few episodes sort of meandered. He begins the discussion this week with another installment of Pirate Round-Up, telling Shawn about going to see the MLB debut of Pittsburgh Pirates prized prospect, Gregory Polanco.

Shawn explains his latest gig, working with kids at the Voices/Fusion Crossover Camp.

After that the conversation shifts to the creative process as Jared looks through Shawn's on-line portfolio and gets the stories behind the artwork.

Jared notices that the character from Shawn's logo for Yinz Can't Park bears an unintended but striking resemblance to the character Pierre St. Blood from their upcoming collaboration, Squatch Bros.

Thanks for tuning in this week! Be sure to tune in next week as Shawn and Jared watch and provide a running commentary on the 1972 classic The Thing With Two Heads!

The chat concludes this week with Jared hipping Shawn to a band he recently saw in concert, King Khan and the Shrines. He also gives an update on the process of Squatch Bros and reveals his comic plans for the rest of the summer.

Join Jared and Shawn back here next week as the keep on trying to Figure It Out!
